Good Advice on Bargains and Freebies

Minimal Mac on bargain:

you owe it to yourself to avoid these bargains and giveaways unless it is stuff you really need and plan on using. If not, you are still wasting your money, your time, and your attention no matter how much you pay.  Even if the price is “free”.

I've been ignoring a lot of bargain opportunity. MacHeist, IT Show 2010, a LOT of freebies from the App Store (and the internet in general), several promo codes, some discount offerings came to my inbox, etc. It feels good not having to worry about something that you don't need, and focus on things that you care about. The title of the linked article above summed it best:
